After Effects | Opening and Outline Final ideas

After Effects
The plot for After Effects follows a life of a teenage boy, showing the audience how one night while sleeping he dreamt what his life in the future would be like. In the movie we see how he overcomes struggles and troubles to find ways to change his life.

The opening begins with a small introduction of his life with the use of mise en scene, using his objects and belongings in his room to showcase his character. The camera focuses on his facial expression showing the audience that he's dreaming. The scene changes into his dreams where we follow his footsteps walking through a corridor. He over hears conversation going around, about drugs in the school, the scene then flashbacks to him while sleeping, so it acts as a reminder for the audience to know that he is still dreaming. This then revert backs to his dream where this time he's outside the school with his friend. His friend then gives him drug, telling him to look after them as a favour. He agrees which means he has to then look after them.

Somehow he get into trouble causing him to have detention, so later on that day his dream moves onto the detention scene. As he detention comes to a end but before he leaves, his teacher has to sign a detention slip. He takes it from his bag which leads him drop the bag of drugs. This then catches his teacher's attention causing him to get caught and then get into trouble. He lies to the teacher saying something else, luckily for him the teacher believes him. As the afternoon progresses, he finds himself curious of what effect the drugs would have on him. This lead him to try the drugs. once trying he begins to find himself becoming addicted. The addiction carries on and it begins to take over his life.

His dream turns into a nightmare as he sees his life turning into a disaster. He begins to see that his addictions clings onto his a portions of his life, and there's a point where he sees himself at its peaks; helpless and clueless. The dream then dramatically stops, leaving him to wake up in distress, he realises what he's just dreamt. The comprehended that the dream was his future and he now has to change his future so it doesn't turn out the way he's dreamt. So the journey begins where we as the audience see his nightmare comes to life but also the changes he makes to change his life
